I finally got round to completing the Combined Counties League Division One!
For some reason I thought it was a good idea to walk and hour and a half from High Wycombe Station to get to the ground. I do not recommend, just take the bus it's a lot easier.
The opening twenty minutes of the match was mainly dominated by the home side. They kept the ball well and created a lot more.
Finally the deadlock was broken on the half hour mark. A corner ball was swung in for Penn and nodded in by the No.9.
A few minutes before the break, Hillingdon managed to equalise out of no where. A break away saw the No.10 pick up the ball in the middle of the park. He then drove forward and managed to skip past a few challenges. He then fired a shot across the goal and into the bottom right hand corner of the net.
Four minutes into the second half, Penn retook the lead from another corner. This time quickly taken and passed off to the No.3. From a ridiculous angle, he smashed the ball as hard as possible and saw his effort fly into the roof of the net.
A few minutes later, the home side added a third. The No.7 picked up the ball on the half way line and headed towards goal. He dribbled into the box, cut inside and hit the ball with his left foot into the bottom left corner of the net.
Another two minutes went by and Penn had a fourth. The ball was looped high up into the box and met by the towering header of the No.12.
Ten minutes later, a fifth for the home side. A perfect cross field pass was played through to the No.7, he kept his composure and saw his effort deflect slightly into the roof of the net.
With the game approaching full time, Hillingdon managed to get a couple of goals back to make it interesting.
The first from a free kick on the edge of the box which was swung in and met by the head of the No.11.
The second from a quick break away down the right side which ended up with the ball played into the box. The Penn defender cleared the ball but straight into the on rushing No.15. The ball cannoned off his knee and into the back of the net.
The final score finished 5-3
