Another cold and wet Saturday afternoon watching football, what could be better! A very action packed game saw the home side take the lead with seventeen minutes gone. The ball was played over the top of the Tooting defence and first to the ball was the No.31, he then took the ball down and finished it brilliantly into the far side of the net.

Ten minutes later, the away side looked likely to equalise from a penalty kick but the Richmond goalkeeper pulled off a fantastic save.

In the second half, with only half an hour left to play, the home side managed to double their lead. Another through ball was played, this time to the No.17 who scored past the on rushing goalkeeper. A few minutes later from the restart, Tooting got a goal back thanks to the No.15 who had just come onto the pitch. He had a simple tap in from close range after the ball was played across the goal.

Then out of nothing with fifteen minutes left, the No.31 for Richmond was shown a straight red card. I took my eyes away from the game for a second and unfortunately didn't see how or what occurred. While defending well for a period of time, the home side managed to break away and play the ball through to the No.16 who found himself one on one with the goalkeeper. He kept his composure and finished into the back of the net, giving his side a comfortable lead, so they thought.

Tooting worked hard to pile on the pressure and were quickly awarded from a long throw in. The ball was hurled into the box and cleared by a Richmond defender, onto another defender and then deflected into the net for an own goal. Literally minutes later, Tooting was awarded a free kick just outside the edge of the area. The free kick was hit hard and bounced off of the defensive wall and into the corner of the net, wrong footing the goalkeeper.

Suddenly, straight from the kick off, Richmond went on the break and worked the ball out to the wing. The ball was then played back into the middle to the No.8 who was unmarked and bearing down on goal. He kept his composure and put the ball into the corner of the net. The bench erupted in celebration.

The full time whistle went with the final score finishing 4-3 to Richmond & Kew.
