23/09/25 - Ground 454 - Dodd Road 3G - Everett Rovers Vs Royston Town U23

My first Tuesday night game back under the lights for quite some time. The home side opened the scoring ten minutes in. The ball was held up by the number 11 on the half way line and then played over the top towards the number 9. He then brought the ball down, cut inside and rifled a shot into the corner of the goal. 

Another ten minutes passed and the away side managed to equalise after a quick break away. The number 11 received the ball and drove into the penalty area. He then put then struck the ball past the goalkeeper and into the back of the net. 

Five minutes later, Rovers went ahead again. The number 10 dribbled the ball down the line and put a low driven cross into the box. After a scramble, the ball fell to the number 7 who tapped it in from close range. The goal was called for offside by the linesman but after conferring with the referee, the goal stood.

Five minutes before the break, Royston were awarded a free kick just on the half way line. The ball was pumped forward with the captain, number 20, out jumping the goalkeepers grasp and heading the ball into the net. The teams went into half time with the score level at 2-2.

Seven minutes into the second half, after a quicky taken free kick by Rovers, the number 7 was in on goal. He volleyed the ball into the corner of the net to put his side ahead again. 

Ten minutes later, I didn't see why but the away side was awarded a penalty which was dispatched by the number 11.

Five minutes later, the home side went ahead yet again. The number 11 cut the ball back to the number 6 in the box who poked the ball home.

Then with five minutes left, Royston's number 10 scored a screamer to level up the score.

Into added time, the home side won the game. The ball was flicked into the box towards the number 11 who volleyed the ball into the back of the net.

An absolutely brilliant game of football, ending 5-4 to Everett Rovers.

Tooting Bec Vs Clapton CFC  📍 High Road  Tickets: £6 A difficult ground to get to in all honesty but it worked out well in the end. I didn't expect to be offered a lift on route but took the opportunity, big thanks to the Tooting fan who saved me a fair walk!  The game itself was quite an end to end affair, with both sides creating a few half chances each. The opening goal of the game came just before the half time break. A corner was swung into the box from Tooting and then nodded back across the goal. The loose ball was then stabbed in by the No.7 to give the home side the lead.  The pattern of the game continued in the second half, with it becoming a lot more scrappier and stop start. With the game approaching the final whistle, Tooting added a second goal to seal the win. Another corner was swung into the box but this time cleared. AFC Royal Holloway Vs Richmond & Kew FC 📍 Royal Holloway College Sports Centre  Tickets: Free Entry  Another eventful game in the Surrey Premier League which saw the away side dominate the match.  The first goal of the game went in just after thirty five minutes had been played. A corner ball found itself eventually working it's way out to Richmonds No.31 on the edge of the box. He then set himself and let off a brilliant strike into the top right hand corner of the net.  A couple of minutes before the break, the away side managed to double their lead. A lovely through ball from the No.7 split the defence and allowed the No.7 to run through clear on goal. He kept his composure and slotted the ball into the corner of the net.  In the second half, with half an hour left to play, Richmond added a third in style to kill off any hopes of a comeback from Holloway.
